ION Geophysical Corporation is a leading provider of geophysical technology, services, and solutions for the global oil & gas industry. ION's offerings allow E&P operators to obtain higher resolution images of the subsurface to reduce the risk of exploration and reservoir development, and enable seismic contractors to acquire geophysical data more efficiently.
INOVA operates with a separate, independent management structure overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of seven directors, four directors appointed by BGP Inc., CNPC and three directors appointed by ION. The chairman of the Board (the “Chairman”) is appointed by BGP Inc., CNPC and the vice chairman (the “Vice Chairman”) by ION.
The seven member board reviews and approves INOVA’s strategic and operating plans and appoints and evaluates members of the Executive Management team.
Mr. Wang Qi – Director of Procurement, BGP
Carey Mogdan – CEO
Mr Mogdan was appointed as the CEO in July 2020. Mr. Mogdan previously held the role of COO, responsible for INOVA’s business development, sales, marketing, manufacturing operations, customer service, repair and rental business. Prior to joining INOVA, he was Vice President at Tarpon Energy Services. Earlier in his career Mr. Mogdan held senior management roles in manufacturing operations and has been responsible for greenfield and operational expansion both domestically and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and holds designations from the Canadian Institute of Management, the Project Management Institute and the American Society for Quality.
Meng Qiang – President
Mr. Meng Qiang was appointed President in July 2020. Mr. Meng Qiang previously held the role of Executive Chairman, responsible for management and coordination of INOVA’s business within China. Prior to joining INOVA, Mr. Meng Qiang had nearly 30 years of work and management experience in the oil and gas geophysics industry. He previously served as the Director of Business Administration and Legal Department and as Deputy Director of the Audit Department of BGP. He had managed equity investment and M&A business, equity management, strategic management, policy formulation, legal affairs, and internal control of BGP. Mr. Meng Qiang graduated from Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, majoring in Economic Management. He also studied and earned relevant certificates at several renowned universities such as De La Salle University of the Philippines and Tsinghua University of China.
Keith Witt – CFO and Sr. Vice President, Administrative Services
Mr. Witt is responsible for international finance, human resources, legal and IT for INOVA and served as ION’s Finance Director of Sensor, based in the Netherlands. He has held various senior finance positions in the UK and Netherlands and has held several other financial management responsibilities including European Rail Shuttle, ERS and British Salt. Mr. Witt holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics from the University of Southampton in the UK and ACMA professional qualification.
Tim Hladik – Sr. Vice President of Product Development
Mr. Hladik is responsible for overseeing the product development of INOVA’s technologies. Prior to joining INOVA, he held various roles in the engineering organizations within Geo-X, which later became ARAM and ION Geophysical. He also held positions as an Electrical Engineer for a global electronics company, Arrow Electronics. In his previous role as Vice President of Engineering – Cable Systems at INOVA, his work was integral in the development of the G3i product and meeting with customers internationally to assess their current and future application requirements. Mr. Hladik holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Dr. Arjun Selvakumar - Sr. Vice President of Science and Technology
Dr. Selvakumar is responsible for creating and overseeing INOVA’s technology vision, goals and roadmap; driving strategic technical alliances inline with near and long term Corporate goals. Prior to joining INOVA, he served as Vice President of Product Development for Colibrys, Inc., a global supplier of Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based products; and Director of Research and Development within Applied MEMS, Inc. and ION Geophysical, Inc. In these technical, business development and executive roles,
Dr. Selvakumar brings 20 years of leadership experience in concepting, developing and launching several MEMS products in the energy, industrial and medical arenas as well as seismic exploration products. Dr. Selvakumar earned his Ph.D. and Master’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, and has a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, India.
