BGP Inc. is one of the world’s largest land geophysical service contractors, offering 2D, 3D, 4D, VSP, and multicomponent field services to E&P clients through more than 50 international seismic crews in 45 countries. BGP also provides geophysical field services that extend beyond seismic, including surveys that require gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and geo-chemical measurements.
ION Geophysical Corporation, a provider of geophysical technology, services and solutions for the global oil and gas industry, continues to retain its interest in INOVA. As of April 2022, ION has filed a petition in U. S. bankruptcy court seeking relief under chapter 11 of the U. S. bankruptcy code. This filing does not affect INOVA's position or performance as the leading provider of land seismic acquisition equipment.
INOVA operates with a separate, independent management structure overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of seven directors, four directors appointed by BGP Inc., CNPC and three directors appointed by ION. The chairman of the Board (the “Chairman”) is appointed by BGP Inc., CNPC and the vice chairman (the “Vice Chairman”) by ION.
The seven member board reviews and approves INOVA’s strategic and operating plans and appoints and evaluates members of the Executive Management team.
