INDEPENDENT SIMULTANEOUS SWEEPINGIndependent simultaneous sweeping (ISS), introduced by BP, utilizes a method for vibrators to work independently. The receiver spread is recording continuously and the vibrator fleets start sweeping when the trucks reach the desired source point. The central recording system does not coordinate or synchronize the vibrator fleets like it does in slip-sweep or DS3. Each vibrator records the location and the GPS start time of each of its sweeps. During processing, this information is used to extract shot records out of the continuously recorded data sets. RELATED ARTICLES
