Steve Bate – President and CEO Operating from Calgary, Houston, and Beijing, Steve is the President and CEO of INOVA. Before being appointed INOVA’s first chief executive in March 2010, Steve served as Senior Vice President for two of ION’s land technology business units – Land Imaging Systems and the Sensor B.V. geophone business. Before leading these combined business units in June 2009, Steve served as Senior Vice President for Sensor B.V., a position that he held since August 2007. Steve originally joined ION in 2005 as CFO for ION’s GX Technology data processing subsidiary. Before joining ION, Steve had served as President of a $300 million residential construction company and, previously, founded his own consulting business that provided advisory services to rapidly growing, closely-held businesses. Mr. Bate holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. Doug Allinson – Senior Vice President, Business Development Based in Houston, Doug is INOVA’s Senior Vice President, Business Development and Customer Service. Before being appointed to this position, Doug served as Senior Vice President of ION’s Next Generation Land Solutions business unit where he was accountable for the FireFly acquisition system, VectorSeis sensor, and ION’s advanced source product development programs. Prior to that, Doug was ION’s Senior Vice President responsible for developing a portfolio of seismic solutions that enabled E&P operators to design and execute full-wave surveys using new planning methods, acquisition technologies, and processing and interpretation techniques. Doug came to ION in 2004 through ION’s acquisition of GX Technology (GXT). Doug began at GXT in 1996 with the mandate to set up its processing services business. Subsequently, Doug held various senior technical management roles at GXT during a period of rapid growth and global expansion. Doug started his career in seismic processing with GSI and Horizon Exploration and has run operations in Latin America, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Liang Chaoyang – Chief Financial Officer Based in Beijing, Chaoyang is INOVA’s Chief Financial Officer. Before being appointed to this position, Chaoyang served as Deputy Director, Finance and Controls for BGP International since 2004. Prior to this, Chaoyang worked as Finance Controller in overseas branches of BGP. Between 1995 and 2001 Chaoyang worked in BGP’s domestic finance department. Mr. Liang holds a master’s degree in Accounting from Tsinghua University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from China’s University of Petroleum.
Jiang Geng – Chief Technology Officer Based in Calgary and Beijing, Jiang is INOVA’s Chief Technology Officer. Before being appointed to this position, Jiang served as Vice President of BGP’s Equipment Manufacturing Department and as Director of R&D for BGP’s equipment development programs. Prior to this, Jiang served as Senior Vice President of BGP’s Offshore Department. Since 1999, Jiang has also served as Chief Engineer in BGP’s Special Equipment Department. Previously, Jiang worked in the Equipment Office at BGP’s headquarters and also served as Deputy Party Chief and Senior Observer with BGP’s First Exploration Division. Mr. Jiang holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio Physics from Beijing University.
Glenn Hauer – Senior Vice President, Product Management Based in Houston, Glenn is INOVA’s Senior Vice President, Product Management. Before being appointed to this position, Glenn served as Vice President, Marketing for ION’s Next Generation Land Solutions business unit. Prior to ION’s acquisition of ARAM in 2008, Glenn was Technical Marketing Director for ARAM Systems Ltd., a leading provider of cable-based land acquisition systems. Glenn had worked with ARAM since 1997. Previously, Glenn worked in data processing with Geo-X Systems. Mr. Hauer holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Fan Huiwen – Senior Vice President, Manufacturing for China Based in Xi’an and Beijing, Mr. Fan Huiwen is INOVA’s Senior Vice President, Manufacturing for China. Before being appointed to this position, Mr. Fan Huiwen served as Chief Mechanical Engineer, BGP International. Prior to that, Mr. Fan Huiwen was Chief Engineer of BGP’s Diversified Business Development in charge of R&D of equipment, new technology, and business development. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Deputy Chief Engineer in BGP’s Geophysical Equipment Manufacturing Plant. His career with BGP started in 1997 as an engineer in Equipment Research Institute of BGP. Mr. Fan holds a Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University. He also obtained his master’s degree in Thermal Engineering and received a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University.
Sun Yuanbo – Senior Vice President, Human Resources Based in Beijing, Yuanbo is INOVA’s Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Since 2003 he has been working with BGP International where he last held the post of Vice President of Human Resources. Previously, he was country manager for BGP International in Venezuela and from1999 to 2002 he was Deputy General Manager for Tianjin Hilong, a joint venture between CNPC and CNOOC. His career with BGP started in 1982 as an engineer and team supervisor for seismic instruments and has taken him through different roles since. Mr. Sun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Radio Engineering from the Dalian University of Technology and a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
